Propaganda by Algeria, polisario aims at 'distorting reality' of Morocco's autonomy proposal, Ould Sidi Mouloud

The propaganda spewed by Algeria and its puppet the polisario 'distorts the realty of Morocco's autonomy proposal' by falsifying it in a slanderous way, underlined the Sahrawi militant, Mustapha Salma Ould Sidi Mouloud.

"Today, everybody is convinced that Morocco's autonomy proposal represents the most realistic solution,” Ould Sidi Mouloud made it clear in an interview published on Friday by the French speaking daily, Le Matin du Sahara et du Maghreb.

Ould Sidi Mouloud noted that the essence of the autonomy proposal is not clearly understood by the population held captive in teh camps due to “the propaganda spread by the polisario and Algeria to distort the reality of Morocco’s autonomy proposal by presenting it in a falsified way.”

He said Morocco showed seriousness through offering the population in the southern provinces a larger say in the management of their local affairs, "notably in terms of wealth repartition", he said, deploring that the polisario leadership went to each camp to preach against him depicting him as a "danger to internal cohesion”.

"This continuous brainwashing condemns all possibilities of having an opinion that does not conform to the separatists’ thesis,” he underlined.

Touching on the suffering endured by the population held against their will in the camps for over three decades, he said that “they now need support more than ever. There are thousands of Sahrawis who are psychologically and intellectually sequestrated in Tindouf, where they suffer and endure harsh treatment which is not always known because the press is denied access to the camps.”

He recalled that 90% of polisario leaders are not from the region of Sakia El Hamra and Oued Eddahab.

The polisario leadership “wants to remain under the yoke of Algeria as it enjoys no legitimacy in the Sahara. This is why Algiers has never supported the true Sahrawis,” he explained.
